A shocking development today in the political landscape of Barbados, as an MP has resigned.
Dwight Sutherland, Member of Parliament for St George South, has resigned as Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance.
When asked to provide further commentary, he refused.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says she received a request from Mr. Sutherland to be relieved of his ministerial portfolio.
Ms. Mottley has also named his successor.
