There’s a new initiative aimed at making it easier for Barbadians to learn about their heritage.
It’s the the National Literacy Bus Tour which was launched in the Golden Square Freedom Park, by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight.
The bus tour through the city showcases the history of Bridgetown with writers as the guides and includes stories and poems behind 14 landmarks in the area.
Minister Munro-Knight says the initiative is key in allowing Barbadians to know about their history.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for The City Corey Lane has thanked Minister Munro-Knight for bringing the initiative to Bridgetown.
He says it’s an important move which will allow the country’s youth to learn the history of Bridgetown and Barbados.
