Police have arrested several males and seized firearms in a raid at Accommodation Road, Bush Hall, on Saturday night.
Among those guns taken are a Glock handgun and an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.
Commissioner of police Richard Boyce says for June, they have taken nine firearms and a number of rounds of ammunition off the streets, including the weapon used in the murder of Cameron Elcock at Six Roads in St Philip.
The Commissioner was speaking at a news conference this evening as he brought the nation up to speed with investigations into a number of crimes.
The Police Commissioner also told the media they are doing everything to bring criminals to justice and that the public should exercise caution in any interaction with criminals. He was responding to a call for the public to use pepper spray in defending themselves.
With regards to the erection of cameras across Barbados, the Commission said it was a work in progress.
