Minister of Energy and Business Development, Senator the Honourable Lisa Cummins, is making it clear that professional qualifications will continue to be governed under the legislation that previously existed.
However, she says the movement of persons relates to the right of people to live and work, and does not remove the right or responsibility of a professional to meet relevant qualification requirements of a given job.
She made the clarification as she led off debate in the Senate on the Caribbean Community (Free Movement of Nationals) Bill, 2025.
