Leader of the Opposition, Ralph Thorne was critical of the Home Ownership Providing Energy Project, calling on Government to give account of the monies placed in the programme.
He gave Government and the Ministry of Housing a failing grade, stating they have failed to provide the touted low-income housing solutions for Barbadians.
Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance, Dwight Sutherland, has defended the HOPE Project in the face of criticism, some levelled by Mr. Thorne.
He says HOPE has significantly enhanced the housing offering to ordinary Barbadians..
Minister Sutherland revealed that HOPE is not solely about housing but economic empowerment, community stability and energy independence.
