Minister in the Ministry of Finance Ryan Straughn says the recent upgrade by Moody’s is further evidence Barbados’ fiscal position has stabilised.
He says Government has been able to execute a robust Barbados Economic Recovery and Transformation (BERT) programme in spite of the challenges the country has faced in the last seven years.
Moody’s Ratings had elevated the long-term issuer ratings of Barbados’ Government from B3 to B2, keeping a stable outlook.
‘Barbados must continue to be disciplined’
Minister Straughn added Government is conscious that in the current rapidly evolving external environment, Barbados must continue to be disciplined and continue to be innovative on all fronts.
