More youth are showing an interest in climate change and disaster preparedness.
And in an effort to help them gain the necessary knowledge and skill set, the Department of Emergency Management is hosting a major youth summer event on August 30 as a part of its public awareness initiative.
DEM’s Programme Officer Simon Alleyne says the event titled High Winds Rough Seas is another youth-centred programme.
Additionally, he says the event will have a number of water-themed attractions and urges those who will be attending to walk with a change of clothes.
