Within the next seven days, the Barbados Museum & Historical Society will try to understand the full extent of the Newton Burial Ground.
This announcement comes from Deputy Director at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society Kevin Farmer.
He was speaking at an event entitled ‘Ancestral Voices from the Newton Burial Bround’, held at Bajan Artforms in Pelican Village where he stated that a specialist is in the country at the moment to oversee and examine the burial grounds.
Mr. Farmer says at this moment, there isn’t a need to trouble the burial ground for archaeological artefacts.
Mr. Farmer also says there is a national heritage district in the works from the Government.
