A Strategic Action Plan on Endometriosis in Barbados has been developed.
It was handed over to the Ministry of Health and Wellness by the Barbados Association of Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome during a ceremony at the Dayrells Road, St. Michael office of the Pan American Health Organisation.
The plan aims to raise awareness and improve healthcare for women and girls living with endometriosis.
President of the Association, Chante Warden, says the condition has been overlooked for too long and is confident in the action plan.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. The Most Honourable Kenneth George, acknowledged the efforts of the Barbados Association of Endometriosis and non-governmental health organisations in filling a void or a perceived void.
