Another rum distillery will soon open its doors in Barbados.
This as the Kilchoman Distillery, based in Scotland and known for its single malt Scotch whiskey, has received planning permission to build a plant in St. Philip.
The Business Report understands the facility would be housed on nine acres of land and will include two copper pot stills and a maturation and bottling plant.
Founder Anthony Wills said it is an exciting time for the Kilchoman brand, which has developed a network of distributors around the world that will be used to distribute its rum.
Former Mount Gay Managing Director Frank Ward is consulting on the project.
