Barbadians will know who is the country’s newest senator in short order.
That’s according to Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, who publicly informed the President of Barbados, Her Excellency the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Maso,n today that she intends to fill the vacancy for a government senator in the Senate in a matter of days.
She made the announcement following the swearing in of Member of Parliament for St James North and Minister of Educational Transformation, Chad Blackman, at State House.
PM Mottley says she surely has her eyes on a candidate for the Senate pick.
However, she is not ready to say who that individual will be.
