No internet, landline service in parts of St. Joseph

June 8, 2024

Residents of parts of Bathsheba, Cleavers Hill and surrounding districts in St. Joseph have been without landline and internet services since Wednesday.

Reports indicate heavy equipment at a multi-million dollar construction site has taken down the lines.

This is the third such incident since the start of the year.

The incidents were caused each time by trucks or oversized excavators on tow.

Residents, especially those with businesses and those who work from home, say the situation has become overbearing.

A check with telecommunications provider Flow indicates the company is aware of the problem but has been unable to rectify the situation.

Flow, in its message to affected customers, promised to deal with matters within 48 hours.

Flow’s Communications Manager Alan Harris says its crews are stretched thin working in other parishes like Christ Church.
