Director of the Centre for Biosecurity Studies at the University of the West Indies, Dr Kirk Douglas, says he is not concerned about an increase in respiratory illnesses, as it is usual given at this time of year.
He was responding to concerns about a possible outbreak of the human metapneumovirus in China.
And he advises amidst this surge of infections, that all Barbadians take proactive steps to protect themselves and their families from any infection that could occur.
