It has been ten days since CARICOM member states including Barbados, Belize, Dominica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines implemented full free movement of their nationals among themselves.
And Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is reporting, as expected, there has been no significant rush of people coming into the country since the agreement started on October 1st.
She made it clear the basis of the agreement is to make it possible for ordinary citizens of these member states to move freely.
She addressed the topic at State House where three distinguished individuals were bestowed national honours.
The Caribbean Community (Free Movement of Nationals) Bill will be debated in Parliament next week.
Prime Minister Mottley is making it clear the bill not being debated as yet is not an issue.
