The Barbados Nursing Association has reacted to the incident in which registered nurses were slashed by a patient.
President Dr Fay Parris is calling for panic buttons on all wards and an urgent review of safety protocols to better protect nurses in crisis.
Dr Parris says they have invited the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness and his team to a virtual town hall meeting with the general membership this week.
They are currently awaiting confirmation of a date and time.
