Caribbean nursing leaders are being called on not only to preserve past achievements but also to lead the transformation of the profession.
Speaking at the 52nd Annual General Meeting of the Regional Nursing Body, held at the Savannah Hotel, Minister of Health and Wellness and Senior Minister of Social and Environmental Policy, Senator Dr. the Most Honourable Jerome Walcott, said the profession is at a pivotal crossroads, facing many challenges.
He said it is time for nurses to shape new models of care and prepare to face these challenges.
Among the challenges is the retention of nurses.
He added that this issue is closely linked to matching the salaries offered to nurses in other countries.
