The Oistins oil spill was on its last legs of being fixed after the efforts of workers from the Barbados National Energy Company Limited on Sunday.
While the crude oil was removed from the streets, the efforts on Sunday were focused on removing the oil from the storm drains.
Minister of Energy and Business Development Senator Lisa Cummins provided an update at the site.
Minister Cummins also stated that a spill-off benefit of the clean-up is that the Oistins drainage system will get a proper flushing at the start of the Atlantic hurricane season.
