Barbadians are being given the opportunity to view a feature-length film which tells the story of the Trinidadian pan and jazz ensemble.
This will be possible through the award-winning documentary Panazz The Story, which will be screened in Barbados on June 7th and 8th at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society.
The screening of the 79-minute documentary, co-written and directed by the uncle-nephew team of Barry and Adam Bartholomew, is through a partnership between the Barbados Museum and Historical Society and Naniki Barbados.
Managing Director of Naniki Barbados, Tom Hinds, who’s the promoter of the Barbados-leg of Panazz, says students with identification will be allowed to view the documentary free of cost, as part of an educational experience.
During Sunday’s screening, those paying to attend will experience an elegant affair of film, music and art through cocktails, and a musical treat from steel pan player Kaylee Allman and vocalist Llettesha Sylvester.
Founding member of Panazz the Band, Barry Bartholomew, says the band, which was made up of close friends, also played in Barbados.
