As Mother’s Day celebrations put the focus on those special women today, Barbados Labour Party candidate for St James North, Chad Blackman, made the point that communities need the support of parents.
He was speaking at a Mother’s Day Luncheon at the St Albans Anglican Church, where he praised mothers for the critical role they play.
Noting he was heartened by the number of women attending, Mr Blackman said he believes that there is a need for support of not only mothers but fathers as well, to be able to maintain and build communities.
He also called for spiritual institutions to help in creating wholesome communities.
