The Parliament of Barbados has not published any report of any special audit by the Auditor General, regarding the building programmes of Home Ownership Providing Energy (HOPE).
In fact, the Parliament of Barbados is not in receipt of any such report.
That is according to a statement issued by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, His Honour Arthur Holder, in response to an article published in today’s Sunday Sun.
The statement notes that under Section 77 (5) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2019, it is the requirement that any such report must first be submitted to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, who must then lay the same as soon as possible thereafter.
It should also be noted that any publication of this alleged report cannot receive any privilege accorded to the Parliament of Barbados.
