The Pine community was under lockdown by police for several hours Sunday morning.
Members of the Barbados Police Service and the Barbados Defence Force were out in their numbers, from about 4 a.m., conducting what they called a special operation. Police Communications and Public Affairs Officer Inspector Ryan Brathwaite tells CBC News the operation was a success, and thanked the public as they continue to “Serve, Protect and Reassure”. He adds that a further update will follow.
Officers from both law enforcement agencies blocked several entrances and exits to The Pine. Some residents declined to speak to CBC but could be heard registering their various complaints about the operation. CBC understands several homes and vehicles were searched.
