Planning for the execution of CARIFESTA XV, the Caribbean Festival of Arts, which will take place in Barbados from August 22-31, 2025, is in full swing.
The thirty-first meeting of the Regional Cultural Committee opened today with a ceremony at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Cultural Foundation and CARIFESTA XV Festival Director, Carol Roberts, says she is looking forward to having vibrant and meaningful discussions towards making this edition of CARIFESTA among the best to be executed.
Meanwhile, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Division of Culture, Office of the Prime Minister, Michelle Maynard, says this is the year for culture in Barbados, as stated by Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn.
She says CARIFESTA events will fall within the Season of Emancipation, which started on April 14 and runs until August 27.
