Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has defended Government’s decision to go to the International Monetary Fund to help reduce the island’s debt and its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mottley, the leader of the ruling Barbados Labour Party, says there has been significant improvement under the IMF programme, which will come to an end next month.
The Prime Minister was speaking at Sion Hill, on the St. James North by-election campaign trail, as she endorsed BLP candidate for the constituency Chad Blackman.
