Police identify victim in Country Park Towers shooting as Jaire Quintyne

Police have identified the victim in yesterday’s fatal shooting.

He is 26-year-old Jaire Tyrek Quintyne, of 2nd Avenue Alleyne’s Lane, Passage Road, St. Michael.

According to a statement issued by Police Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Acting Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, the shooting occurred around 7:15 a.m. yesterday at Country Park Towers, Country Road, St. Michael.

Investigations reveal that two men were walking between two blocks of apartments when a series of gunshots were discharged, injuring Quintyne and another man.

Quintyne was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private car, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist with investigations, to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the District “A” Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246.
