Police are investigating another shooting in a St. Michael community that occurred last night.
According to a statement by Police Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, officers conducted an operation at Simmons Land, Fairfield, St. Michael.
He said a suspect, who was armed with a firearm, engaged the police and was subsequently shot.
The man was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention.
Four other individuals are in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Additionally, one firearm, a quantity of ammunition, several marijuana plants, and a loose quantity of vegetable matter were recovered.
