The Crop Over spirit was alive and present in The City yesterday afternoon as the Barbados Police Service hosted its inaugural Crop Over in the City and Police Jump Up, featuring the protective services and friends.
The jump started from Fontabelle and ended at Golden Square Freedom Park, as business people lined the streets, with some even joining in the festivities.
Commissioner of Police Richard Boyce says they were grateful for the support from other entities, and hoped this was the precursor for the behaviour of those engaging in the upcoming Crop Over Festival.
He adds the event will be an annual fixture on the calendar going forward.
Attorney General Dale Marshall describes the event as spectacular and says this was an opportunity for the public to see another side of the police.
Organiser of the event, Station Sergeant Jerome Clarke, says the event was a resounding success.
And he pledged that they are going to ensure Barbados is safe for Crop Over 2025.
