Police seize over 50 illegal firearms

The Barbados Police Service has seized over 50 illegal firearms so far this year.

Police Commissioner Richard Boyce has identified these illegal weapons as the primary threat to the country’s safety and security.

He says while securing the country’s borders to stop their importation is important, the Barbados Police Service is working to get the guns already here out of the hands of criminals.

Police Inspector Dwayne Cumberbatch identified some of those weapons at a recent press conference

Police Commissioner Richard Boyce says 3D printers are a concern for law enforcement and shared that policy discussions are ongoing as to how best to address the issue.

Inspector Cumberbatch revealed how the 3D printer was found.
