Prime Minister Mottley invites Trump for face-to-face meeting on climate action

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has invited US President-elect, Donald Trump to a face-to-face meeting where she intends to seek common ground on climate action.

Mr. Trump’s return and his promise to pull the United States from the Paris Agreement once again poses another challenge to global climate efforts.

However, Ms. Mottley told the British newspaper, The Guardian, she believes there are ways of roping Trump into the climate change fight.

She stated only by personal meetings among world leaders can the massive changes needed on climate action be achieved.

Ms. Mottley also noted the green transition would continue with or without Trump.
