The private sector has been asked to get involved in ferry transportation to service the region.
CARICOM Chair and Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley says the grouping wants the private sector to explore opportunities with respect to how the ferry service can be facilitated to specific charter services, rather than governments assuming the responsibility for the purchase of equipment.
She was speaking during the closing press conference for the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.
