Investigations are ongoing in relation to some people coming to the island to work on the CARICOM Skills Certificate, but do not have the qualifications they say they do.
And according to Minister of Home Affairs and Information, Wilfred Abrahams, some of these people engaging in this fraudulent act could even be investigated.
He made the declaration while addressing the Barbados Labour Party’s, Christ Church East and South Joint Branch meeting, where he said the CARICOM Skills Certificate will no longer be necessary requirement as part of the new free movement regime for the four CARICOM states.
And Minister Abrahams says there has not been an extraordinary amount of CARICOM nationals rushing to Barbados.
