Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne suggests that lands at Jemmotts Lane, St Michael, would have been better equipped for a palliative care facility.
Further, Mr Thorne urges the Government to pursue a programme that meets not only individual ambition but also the collective interest of Barbadians.
He made these comments during his contribution in the Lower House, on the leasing of two acres of land at the Coverley Great House in Christ Church to the Barbados Association of Cancer Advocacy, to facilitate the erection of a hospice and palliative care facility for the terminally ill.
He urges the Minister of Housing to give serious consideration to a housing mandate that looks not only at the creation of new estates, but a look back at those places where developments began.
