Public workers in Barbados voted today for new leadership of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW).
The race for the post of president is between three contenders, including Incumbent Kimberley Agard of the Barbados Statistical Service, Anne Marie Brewster of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, and Natalie Walthurst-Jones of the Barbados Community College.
Voting got underway at 6 this morning and ended at 6 this evening.
Votes were cast at NUPW headquarters at Dalkeith Hill, St Michael, the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology, the Sanitation Service Authority at Wildey, and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, among other locations.
Ms. Agard says the election is about the future of the union and the trust its members place in the current leadership.
The winner of the election is yet to be announced.
