There are efforts to position Barbados as a destination of choice for gastronomy tourism.
That’s according to Special Projects Manager with the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association, Tessalee Moore.
Gastronomic tourism is a form of travel that revolves around exploring the culinary traditions and food culture of a particular destination.
Ms. Moore and Chef Adrian Cumberbatch were guests on Mornin’ Barbados to discuss the Barbados National Culinary Team.
A squad is currently in training, before a team is selected to represent the island at the CHTA Taste of the Caribbean Competition in Miami this November.
Mr. Cumberbatch, who is the Team Manager, says competitors will be judged on representation of their country, creativity, flavour, taste and teamwork.
