The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has reaffirmed its mandate to protect the confidentiality and medical records of every patient under its care.
Officials say they are working to ensure that members of the public understand how to navigate the public health care system, ultimately reducing confusion. Chief Operations Officer, Dr Christine Greenidge, says health care institutions globally face the same issues, one of which is complaints. She is making it clear that only the next of kin as listed on hospital documents will be updated with information regarding a patient’s health.
Dr Greenidge was speaking as a guest on the QEH’s Pulse Radio Show on Q 100.7 FM.
Additionally, the medication delivery service, which was started during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been reaping dividends. Communications Specialist Shane Sealy says in some cases, they are delivering more than 100 packages of medication daily.
He is reminding the public that they can sign up for delivery at www.qehconnect.com or at telephone number 536-4804 for a month’s supply of medication.
