The management of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is tonight reacting to an incident there in which three registered nurses were slashed by a patient Tuesday night.
Communications specialist Shane Sealy confirmed the incident and said the injuries were not life-threatening, but have left those involved shaken.
Reliable sources informed CBC News that a female patient, who was admitted Tuesday night, hid broken glass in her underwear and used it to cut the nurses.
The incident reportedly occurred around midnight.
Mr Sealy says immediate medical attention and psychological support have been offered to all affected personnel.
