Assisting in resolving the violence and other issues facing Haiti has also been identified as a priority for CARICOM, as the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM continues.
To this end, the grouping is mobilising resources to help that country ahead of its November 15 elections.
President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, who has lead responsibility for agriculture and food security in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet, says the main issues continue to be that of security and mobilising international support to bring the situation under control to facilitate a smooth election.
He’s concerned about the humanitarian crisis affecting that country.
