Sixty-nine companies have shown an interest in supplying 60 megawatts of battery energy storage, put out for tender by the Ministry of Energy and Business.
The revelation came during a media conference at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, to launch the second phase of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) procurement for Barbados.
Minister of Energy and Business, Senator Lisa Cummins, said it was a defining moment for Barbados’ energy sector.
Trevor Thorpe was there and filed this report.
