Government Senator Andwele Boyce is applauding the Mia Amor Mottley administration for stepping up to the plate to introduce the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2025.
Senator Boyce, who sat on the National Committee for the Improvement of Lives of Persons with Disabilities, says the comprehensive act has been long in coming and is reflective of a national effort.
Contributing to the Resolution: National Policy for Improving the Lives of Persons with Disabilities, Senator Boyce who was born with a disability said the passing of the legislation is a good day for Barbados.
Senator Boyce says he is particularly pleased that the act makes provisions for persons with disabilities to access justice through the implementation of a social empowerment agency and a tribunal.
