The Services of the Barbados Consulate in New York are set to be transformed in the near future.
Word of this from Consul General of Barbados in New York, Lorenzo Harewood, who spoke exclusively with CBC.
He believes Barbadians living abroad continue to have a keen interest in the success of the island and his job is to facilitate the sharing of ideas between the Diaspora and Barbados.
With an emphasis on sustainable development and investments, Mr. Harewood explains that the consulate will establish the Barbados Business Network in March of 2025.
He adds that this network will enhance business opportunities for Barbadians.
The Consul General told CBC News that there are over one hundred applications for the business network, which bodes well for Barbadians living abroad.
He says in addition to the Barbados Business Network, the establishment of the Barbados Consulate Liaison Network has made operations more efficient.
