Former Class Four students from primary schools in the parish of St Peter were recently treated to an educational tour and fun day.
The event, coordinated by the Member of Parliament for St Peter and Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, Colin Jordan, took the children to fire stations and the Parliament Buildings before a picnic at Farley Hill.
Speaking about the excursion to the Barbados Fire Service headquarters in The Pine, Minister Jordan said the aim was to take the young people outdoors, helping them to gain knowledge while having fun.
He is also urging more Barbadians to step forward and mentor the island’s young people.
Some of the students shared aspects of their experiences.
