Twenty-four Barbadians, including two from the diaspora, have been presented with the Pride of Barbados Award as part of the St. Philip We Gatherin’ 2025 initiative.
After presenting awardees with their medals during the ceremony which took place at State House, President of Barbados, the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, extended gratitude to the stalwarts for their contribution to their parish and national development as a whole.
President Mason, who is from St. Philip, says she is especially proud to present the St. Philip awardees with their awards.
Trained social worker, former head of the Barbados Family Planning Association and chairman of the Grantley Adams Memorial School, George Griffith, says he is proud to have contributed 62 years to community work.
Retired food development officer and advocate for the consumption of locally produced foods, Marion Harte, says she is pleased to be awarded for her contribution to her parish and national development, before she dies.
Member of Parliament for St. Philip South, the Honourable Indar Weir, St. Philip West, the Honourable Kay McConney, and St.Philip North, the Honourable Dr. Sonia Browne attended the proceedings.
