The Government’s Startwise programme was a failure.
So says Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne.
Speaking at a meeting at Ashton Hall in support of the Democratic Labour Party candidate for St James North, Felicia Dujon, Mr. Thorne said the programme, which targeted young persons in search of a global job but who do not wish to leave Barbados, had not met its target.
He says a budget of over six million dollars was submitted for the project, which was to help address much of the underemployment seen among young people.
