Suggestion Gov’t provide house insurance for elderly, vulnerable

A call has been made for Government to consider providing insurance coverage for homes occupied by the elderly and other vulnerable groups in society.

The suggestion from Parliamentary Representative for St. James North Edmund Hinkson, as he contributed to the Debate on the National Ageing Policy.

Mr. Hinkson believes this measure would be of financial benefit to both vulnerable individuals and the state, in light of the increase in intensity and frequency of storms affecting the island.
