After outreach and education campaigns, some employers on the island are enthusiastic about the National Workplace Wellness Policy.
The policy was approved in 2019 and has been fully operational since 2021.
Senior Lecturer of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Dr. Dwayne Devonish, who prepared the policy, says many are eager to learn about how it coalesces with the Safety and Health at Work legislation.
He notes aside from physical wellness, the National Workplace Policy covers nine dimensions, including psychological or mental wellness.
He says this addresses the psychological turmoil employees are facing.
