A target of producing one million Blackbelly sheep, set by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, is achievable.
So says Consultant in the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Leroy McClean, who notes that after numbers were input and data analysed, it can be done.
He explains that the venture is a partnership with Guyana, the CARICOM nation responsible for agricultural diversification and food security.
Dr. McClean was providing an update on the one thousand Blackbelly sheep that were sent to the South American country.
However, he stressed that this target will not be achieved in just one or two years but will require sustained efforts over time.
