Eleven teachers across primary and secondary schools have been recognised for their dedication and contributions to the profession.
The Barbados Union of Teachers distributed Top Tier Awards to the educators as part of the union’s week of activities.
The first stop was the Ministry of Educational Transformation, where peripatetic teacher Shamel Edwards was presented with her award.
Ms. Edwards says she was surprised to be among the awardees.
The union’s Public Relations Officer, Cherise Rock, announced the names of this year’s Top Tier awardees, who were selected because they inspire, encourage, and respect their students and colleagues.
