The Barbados Police Service has identified the man who died in a shooting incident at 8th Avenue, Ivy, St. Michael, on Monday.
He is 21-year-old Omari Lee Grant Jordan, of Belle Gully, St. Michael.
Police said they received a report around 4:20 p.m. yesterday, of a man lying in the road at 8th Avenue, Ivy, Saint Michael, where they observed Jordan’s lifeless body with several wounds.
The full statement from police on the shooting follows:
“Police at the District ‘A’ Station are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the unnatural death of a male whose body was discovered at 8th Avenue, Ivy, St. Michael on Monday 14th April, 2025.
“INVESTIGATIONS:
Police at the Operations Control Centre received a report about 4:20 p.m. of a man lying in the road at 8th Avenue, Ivy, Saint Michael. Police responded and on their arrival, they were met by personnel of the Barbados Ambulance Service who directed them to the lifeless body [of] a male whose body had several wounds. A Medical Doctor visited the scene and pronounced death at the scene.
The victim has been officially identified by a family member as: Omari Lee Grant Jordan, 21 years of Belle Gully, St. Michael.
“Investigations will continue into this matter. Anyone who can provide any information that can assist with these investigations is asked to call the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246, Police Emergency 211, Crime Stoppers at 1800-TIPS (8477) or the nearest Police Station.”
