UPDATE: Police identify victim in fatal shooting

The Barbados Police Service has identified the man who lost his life as a result of a shooting incident at Downhill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael.

He has been identified by a relative as 24-year-old Donte Tyrell Alleyne, of Block 20E, Downhill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael.

Police Operations Control received a report of a shooting at Downhill Drive Eden Lodge St. Michael around 11:58 p.m. last evening, Monday, June 2, 2025. A number of mobile units were dispatched to the area, and on arrival, the motionless body of Alleyne was seen lying outside a residence.

Personnel from the ambulance service were summoned. On arrival, they examined the body and found no signs of life. A medical doctor subsequently visited the scene and pronounced death.

Preliminary investigations have shown that the deceased was walking home when he was approached by an assailant, several gunshots were discharged injuring him in the process. He succumbed to these injuries at the scene.

Police added that “the investigations are continuing into the matter. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information that may assist us to please contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1800-8477, Police Emergency 211 or the District A Police Station at 430-7242 or 430 7246.”
