Updated legislation is coming, giving the Ministry of Transport and Works more teeth in addressing concerns arising from wells on private lands.
The matter came to a head as Minister of State in the Ministry of Education Sandra Husbands highlighted the struggles faced, especially as it related to unkept wells and flooding.
According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Santia Bradshaw the current prevention of floods legislation is outdated.
Ms. Bradshaw announced plans to strengthen the Communications Department of her Ministry.
