USMX and ILA reach a tentative six year agreement

Averted industrial action at US Ports is good news for Barbadian shippers and their customers.

The United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) and the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) have reached a tentative six year agreement.

Last October the United States Maritime Alliance Members went on strike, stopping the flow of cargo and containers.

The industrial action lasted three days before a tentative agreement sent dock workers back to work until January 15, to allow for talks to continue.
